Folks write in alot moaning about the good old days of Genesis and Gabriel and how there is a such limited amount of really good music coming out,  (Stuff with lots of chords,  melodies, and intelligent thoughtful lyrics and exceptionally well produced technically)  and they are getting weary listening to their old favorites . . . as great as they may be.  So here are some picks,  some old some new,  that you might have missed over the years. These are all great records - you'll find something new every time you listen.

                                                                                                                                                       805 HOME

Ambrosia:  Self-titled first album.  Before they went all commercial on us.

Donald Fagen: "Morph the Cat."  Won Grammy this year for "Best Surround Sound Album."

Steely Dan:  "Everything Must Go."  Still the best !  On tour this summer,  by the way.

Tori Amos:  "From the Choirgirl Hotel."  Her only "overproduced" album...and great that way.

Thomas Dolby:  "Astronauts and Heretics."  British with Cajun overtones . . . great mix.

Fountains of Wayne:  "Welcome Interstate Managers."  Our # 1 non-prog pick.

ALSO:

Sting:  "Sacred Love."

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones:  "Hidden Land."  Won Jazz Grammy this year.  Also "Little Worlds."   Out there.

Porcupine Tree:  Various albums.  Prog rockers with an occasional hard rock edge.

AND:

Peter Gabriel:  "Growing Up Live"  DVD.  Even though the album wasn't a big seller, this concert in the round from Italy is an incredible work of sight and sound.  Everybody who ever liked Gabriel will LOVE this.  As well as songs from the album,  a dozen old favorites are performed and the effects, lights and staging are fantastic.
